01 / Cryptography & time
TimeCapsule is a Web3 app for writing now and opening later. It encrypts your text in the browser, stores the sealed record on-chain, and uses a verifiable time signal to release the key at the moment you choose.
Current focus: Monad Testnet. Sealing a capsule requires a supported wallet and network fees.
A moment, sealed until it arrives.
Why TimeCapsule
A note to your future self. A thought for someone you love. A public mark in time. The meaning is yours; the release rules are built into the capsule.
Text is encrypted in your browser before the sealed payload is submitted. The app does not need an account or a message database.
The release uses a verifiable drand time signal. Changing your computer's clock does not make the key available early.
An open capsule format and independent recovery tool provide a path to retrieve a capsule beyond the website, subject to network and data availability.
The experience
The app makes the emotional act simple while keeping the cryptographic steps visible.
Write a text capsule, choose a future release time, and select Public or Private mode.
Your browser encrypts the text. You sign a transaction to record the sealed payload on the selected chain.
Once the time signal is available, the app verifies it before opening. Private capsules also require your passphrase.
The important details
TimeCapsule offers distinct Public and Private modes. Their visibility and recovery requirements matter before you seal anything.
